There are many "things" turning 50 in 2022, just like Kim! These things are the Honda Civic, the Egg McMuffin, Nerf footballs, Snapple, the Mr. Coffee drip coffee marker and Walt Disney World. Out of all the amazing things that were created in 1972, we think Kim is the best!
After 50 years, Kim has learned a thing or two from her journeys around the sun. We asked her to share 50 things she has learned from life in celebration of her birthday. The phrases that are highlighted are Kim's top lessons! Here is what she said...
Clean up your messes because no one else will do it for you.
The only failure is not trying.
Don't hesitate when you should act.
Take time for YOU!!!
You are the only one that can take care of YOU!!
If you make your bed, lie in it.
Work to live, not live to work.
Pay your debts.
Work smarter, not harder.
Save a portion of what you earn.
Return everything to its place. Otherwise, you’re left with clutter.
Treat others how you want to be treated.
Use your imagination. Your brain is a powerful engine and needs to be worked for good ideas.
The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
Listen when someone talks. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason, and you could learn something.
Taking your own advice is the hardest pill to swallow.
Your beliefs don’t make you a better person. Your behavior does.
Let people talk and avoid finishing their sentences.
Slow down!!!
Put on your own oxygen mask before helping others.
Always make space in your life for fun.
Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it!
Pay it forward.
Give people a second chance, but not a third.
A leopard does not change their spots.
If you can be anything, choose to be kind.
Life is too short. Spend time with the ones you love and enjoy the time you have. Tomorrow is not a given.
Balance is key in life and work.
Take a power nap! It recharges you.
Good things do not come easily.
Show empathy not sympathy.
Empathy is the ability for a person to understand, share with, and see a situation from another person's perspective or point of view.
Sympathy is the feelings of sorrow or pity for the misfortunes of others.
Play nice in the sandbox.
Asking for help is hard but dealing with the consequences of not asking is even harder.
You cannot help someone that doesn't want the help.
Marriage takes time, energy, and unconditional love.
Not all family and friends are forever, but memories are.
People come into your life for a reason, season, or lifetime.
Love many, trust few, and always paddle your own canoe.
Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.
What other people think of you should not matter to you.
Never ruin a good day by thinking of a bad memory.
You always had the power my dear you just needed to learn for yourself.
There is no place like home.
“NO,” is a complete sentence.
No decision is a fine decision.
Don’t be a doormat!
Bring a little sparkle into someone’s day.
Collect memories!
You are never too old to try something new.
Have money in the bank, a valid passport, and a fun travel partner.
