Andrew is back to finish his report on his first time to Europe! After his family went to Scotland, they spent the remainder of their vacation in Germany.
Here’s what he had to say about Germany!
Munich is packed with cool things to see, do, and eat, and I’m here to share all my favorite spots. If you’re ever in Munich, here’s what you definitely need to check out!

1. Must-See: The Glockenspiel at the Rathaus
Okay, first up: the famous Glockenspiel at the Rathaus (that’s the town hall in the center of Munich). You don’t want to miss this! Every day at 11:00 AM and noon, the Glockenspiel chimes and puts on a mini show with dancing figurines. It’s kind of like a clock tower but way cooler. The best part? Munich’s train station has a stop right at the Rathaus, so it’s easy to get to and a great place to start exploring the city. Try to get there a little early to find a good spot to watch the show—trust me, it’s worth it!

2. Must-Eat: Pretzel and Bratwurst at Schneider Bräuhaus
Okay, if you’re in Munich, you have to eat like a local. That means pretzels and bratwurst! While the Hofbräuhaus is fun and touristy, locals actually head to Schneider Bräuhaus for lunch. This place is a true Bavarian brauhaus, where you can enjoy delicious bratwurst with mustard and, of course, a giant pretzel. I ate here and the food was amazing—just like how you imagine it would be in Germany. Make sure to try some apple strudel for dessert, too—it’s the best!

3. Must-Do: Climb the Alter Peter Tower
Want an incredible view of the city? You’ve got to climb the Alter Peter tower! The Cathedral of St. Peter (also called Alter Peter) has this awesome tower with 306 steps to the top. It’s a bit of a climb, but once you get to the top, the view is totally worth it. You can see the whole city, and on a clear day, you can even spot the Alps in the distance! After the climb, I definitely recommend stopping at the café across the street for a refreshing lemonade and a pastry to relax and enjoy the view.
Munich is such a cool city—full of history, delicious food, and awesome views! I had an amazing time here, and I can’t wait to come back someday. If you’re looking for a family vacation that mixes fun and culture, Munich is definitely the place to be.
