WDW Halloween 2022

The happiest place on earth throws the best celebrations! Most travelers LOVE heading to WDW for the winter holidays, but at Starlight2Travel, we love Halloween most! The WDW team goes ALL OUT to decorate for this spooktacular event! The celebration starts in September and lasts until November 1.

Here's the magic you can expect from Walt Disney World during the Halloween season...

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey throws his own private (separate admission from the parks) Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom theme park. 2022's events are SOLD OUT because Mickey knows how to throw a party. If you have the chance to attend his party in future years, get your favorite costume ready! Come collect candies and treats while Magic Kingdom park thrills and chills you with eerie entertainment, delightful attractions and some beloved Disney Characters. Mickey gathers his friends and adds a Halloween twist to their attractions —including Mad Tea Party, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Space Mountain and so much more across Magic Kingdom.

During Mickey's Party, A Fiendish Frenzy of Fireworks

During a frightfully fun fireworks display, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are spirited away to a mysterious haunted house where they encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a sinister gathering of Disney villains! Don’t miss this dazzling spectacular featuring state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lights and fireworks during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Disney Springs Halloween Decoration

Throughout September and October, you’ll find “Fall at Disney Springs,” which features seasonal decorations, photo opportunities, entertainment, and treats all around. There's not many "celebrations" happening but this is the next most spooktacular site to see if you're heading to WDW this season.

Return to Sleep Hollow

During event nights at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Guests will be able to see galloping ghosts and experience an up close and personal encounter with the Headless Horseman. The evening includes a group viewing of the 1949 animated classic film the Legend of Sleepy Hollow inside the resort’s Tri-Circle-D Ranch stables. Then, there’s a dessert party where guests can enjoy Halloween-themed snacks and desserts. This usually only happens on specific weekends.

Halloween Attractions

Walt Disney World has two iconic haunted house/hotel attractions: Haunted Mansion and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Both are open year-round and are not specifically “Halloween” attractions, but both are "close enough" to be considered iconic and Halloween themed.

Epcot Food & Wine Festival

This isn't "Halloween" themed, but maybe with a bit of creativity, you could consider this a fall-themed activity. Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival might offer a handful of pumpkin-flavored snacks and other fall(ish) treats in Epcot (if you search hard enough). Plus, the event has something of an Oktoberfest vibe. Regardless, Walt Disney World’s foodie event is fun, and we highly recommend spending some time sampling flavors around the world if you'll be traveling to WDW in the fall.

As we're still recovering from the pandemic, so is WDW. We're thrilled to see the magic team implementing traditional events. We're moreso looking forward to the surprises that will await in 2023. If you're eager for what's to come too, start planning your trip to WDW now! Tickets for 2023 are available now and are filling up fast! Planning in advance is key to making the perfect trip to Disney.

However you're spending your spooky season, we hope it's fabulous and festive. Happy haunting!
